Setelah sempat dibuka diteritory negatif akibat mengecewakannya data Aktivitas Manufacturing diarea Midwest yang tercermin dalam Indeks Chicago PMI bulan April yang turun kelevel 49 (dibawah ekspektasi konsensus ekonom pd level 52.5), akan tetapi Wall Street akhirnya ditutup positif dimana Dow ditutup menguat +21.05 poin (+0.14%) diiringi turunnya The Vix sebesar -1.39% ditutup pd level 13.52 didorong membaik earnings Q1/2013 emiten: Pfizer, IBM, Best Buy, BP, UBS, Deutsche Bank ditengah menguatnya data single-family home prices bln February yg melonjak tajam kelevel kenaikan tertinggi tahunan dalam 7 thn terakhir serta data Consumer Confidence bulan April yang meningkat tajam menjadi level 68.1, dibandingkan level Maret sebesar 59.7 serta diatas konsensus ekonom pada level 60.8.

Dgn kenaikan Dow semalam tsb, selama April Dow membukukan kenaikan sebesar 1.5% atau menguat 5 bulan berturut-turut, sdgkan Indeks S&P 500 membukukan kenaikan tertinggi baru dlm sejarah & Indeks Nasdaq membukukan kenaikan tertinggi selama 2.5 thn terakhir.

"Galau" nya pemerintah Indonesia apakah menaikkan harga BBM atau tidak & meningkatnya earnings Q1/2013 bbrp emiten besar spt: UNVR, BSDE, CTRA serta aksi beli asing menjaga IHSG tetap dalam track BULLISH ditengah rencana aksi demonstrasi buruh memperingati May Day membuat IHSG mengerem penguatannya di Sesi 1 ttp jika demo berjalan lancar, maka ada peluang IHSG melanjutka penguatan dlm perdagangan Rabu.

Stocks reversed their early losses to finish higher on the final day of the month, with all three major averages posting robust gains for April, despite some weak corporate earnings and mixed economic data.

The Dow closed higher for the fifth-straight month and marked the best start of the year through the first four months since 1999. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq is logged their sixth-straight month of gains. The S&P logged the best start of the year since 1998.

For the month, the Dow rallied 1.79 percent, the S&P 500 jumped 1.81 percent, and the Nasdaq climbed 1.88 percent. Microsoft was the biggest monthly gainer on the Dow, while Hewlett-Packard sagged.

Telecoms and utilities were the best sector performers in April, while energy and industrials lagged.
